Wood:
Select #1 grade redwood or cedar (knot-free):
Five 1x6 x 6' long boards
One 1x8 x 6' long board
Two 2x6 x 6' long boards
One 2x8 x 6' long board
One 1x2 x 6' long board

(If you don't mind the look of knots in your project, use a lower cost #2 grade of lumber.)

Saw:
Table saw or circular saw, band saw, hand-held sabre saw
